Dental Treatments

Tooth Extraction

Tooth extraction or Exodontia is the removal of teeth under local anesthesia. The most common reason is when the tooth is extensively decayed and cannot be restored. There are 2 types of extractions one is simple and the other is Surgical.

Dental Crown

A dental crown is a custom-made “cap” placed over a damaged or weakened tooth to restore its shape, size, strength, and appearance. Crowns encase the entire visible portion of the tooth above the gumline, providing protection and reinforcement.

Dental Bridge

Dental bridges replace missing teeth. They can restore chewing function, enhance your appearance and improve your oral health. A dental bridge consists of crowns (that fit over your natural teeth on either side of the space) and artificial teeth (that “bridge the gap” in your smile).

Denture

This is a plate with one or more false teeth on it. It may be all plastic or a mixture of metal and plastic. Both types may have clips (clasps) to help keep the denture in place in your mouth. Depending on where they are, some of these clips may show when you smile or open your mouth.

Periodontics Endodonties(Root Canal)

The aim of this treatment is to save a tooth that has been badly damaged due to disease, decay or injury. It is generally recommended that it be crowned afterward the procedure. Endodontic treatment, also known as a root canal treatment, is a treatment of the tooth aimed at clearing infection as well as protecting the tooth from subsequent infections.

Dental Retainers

A retainer is an orthodontic device that is designed to help teeth «retain» their new position. Teeth move throughout our life and without a retainer, the teeth will shift again. A retainer is designed to keep the teeth where the previous braces/aligner treatment moved them.

Dental Consultation

Dental health is an important aspect of our lives. It should get as much attention as any other health practice. Many people are ignorant about the importance of maintaining good oral hygiene, much to their dismay. They end up getting dental diseases, which presents some challenges to the comfort of their lives. In some other cases, dental defects may arise due to other factors other than neglect. The best way to deal with these is to have a system in place that helps to detect the conditions before they transpire. The system in place should also provide a remedy should the condition occur.

Full Mouth Scaling

Scaling and root planing here at our clinic we do a deep dental cleaning. It's sort of like a regular dental cleaning, except it reaches deeper beneath your gums. You might need a deep dental cleaning if you have periodontitis. Symptoms of periodontitis include swollen or bleeding gums.

Permanent Filling

Permanent fillings serve as the final treatment, providing long-term protection for the tooth. Durability and Stability: Temporary fillings are less durable and may wear out or fall off over time, while permanent fillings are securely bonded to the tooth and can withstand pressure and chewing for extended periods.

Teeth Whitening

Teeth discoloration is a common issue that affects many people in Kenya. It can happen due to a wide range of factors, such as the natural wearing out of the enamel layer, certain foods and beverages ,i.e. coffee, smoking, and exposure to certain chemicals. Discolored or stained teeth can have a big impact on a person’s self-esteem and overall quality of life, leading to feelings of self-consciousness and even affecting their social interactions. Fortunately, teeth whitening, also known as teeth bleaching or masking, offers a reliable solution to this problem.

Dental Masking

Dental masking is a cosmetic procedure that uses tooth-coloured material to cover up small imperfections like white/brown spots (often from dental fluorosis), minor chips, cracks, gaps, or stains. Side effects These include sour breath, receding gums, dry mouth due to mouth breathing, bleeding gums, and even tooth decay.

Orthodontics Treatment (Teeth Alignment)

Orthodontic treatment (usually with braces) is most often used to improve the appearance and alignment of crooked, protruding or crowded teeth, and to correct problems with the bite of the teeth.

Root canal Treatment

A root canal treatment is a dental procedure that removes the infected dental pulp inside the middle of a tooth. It's also called endodontic treatment. Each tooth has a canal system which goes from the crown (top surface) to the root. A tooth has up to 4 canals containing dental pulp.

Dental Veneers

Veneers are coverings that fit over the front surfaces of your teeth. Technicians use high-quality dental materials, like tooth-colored composite or porcelain, to create them. Dental veneers are cosmetic in nature. Dental veneers are designed to improve the appearance of your teeth, so they are ideal for people with discolored, cracked, chipped or pitted tooth enamel.

Frequently Asked Questions
FAQS
  • 1. How Often Should I Get a Dental Checkup?
Dental health varies from person to person; a general rule for adult patients is to visit a dentist once or twice a year, even if your mouth is in excellent condition. This way, you can get your teeth professionally cleaned regularly and maintain excellent oral health.
  • 2. What Are the Best Ways to Practice Good Oral Hygiene at Home?
In addition to daily brushing and flossing, take your oral hygiene to the next level by following a few steps to good dental health. These include:
    • Using products that contain fluoride.
    • Limiting snacks that are high in sugar.
    • Eating a balanced diet of fruits and vegetables.
    • Avoiding tobacco in any form.
  • 3. Can different welding methods be combined?
. How Can I Improve the Whiteness of My Teeth? A beautiful smile with clean, white teeth is a huge confidence booster. Most people experience some discoloration of teeth over the years, either from surface stains or internal ones. Treat stains caused by coffee, wine, tobacco, and pigmented foods with at-home whitening or have professional, in-office whitening done regularly. For internal discoloration, consider composite bonding or the application of veneers to the affected teeth, which provides a more permanent solution. 4. How Do I Prevent Tooth Decay, Gingivitis, and Other Problems?
  • 4. How Do I Prevent Tooth Decay, Gingivitis, and Other Problems?
The best way to ensure a healthy mouth is to follow a balanced diet and regularly visit the dentist while maintaining your oral care routine with twice-daily brushing and once-daily flossing. Protect yourself against problems that can advance quickly by discussing these questions with your dental professional.
  • 5. Why Should I Have Dental X-Rays Taken?
Your dentist should take a full set of dental X-rays early into the doctor-patient relationship. X-rays help your doctor monitor any changes that could be happening in your teeth between appointments. Most adult patients have bitewing X-rays every year and a full mouth series every four to five years. But those with a higher risk for dental caries problems may need them every six to 18 months.
  • 6. What is tooth sensitivity and why do i have it?
Patients with tooth sensitivity feel pain when they consume foods or drinks that are hot or cold, sweet, or acidic. Sensitivity happens when tooth enamel, which usually protects the tooth's pulp and dentin, is thinned from repeated exposure to acidity and extreme temperatures. Sensitivity can also occur as a result of:
    • Receding gums
    • Tooth grinding during sleep
    • Chipped or fractured teeth
    • Tooth whitening
    • Orthodontics and fillings

Talk to us today and they will examine the affected teeth and recommend treatment to reduce your sensitivity.

  • 7. When Should I Consider Dental Implants?
It depends - there are different kinds of mouthwash. Cosmetic mouthwashes aim to freshen breath and to maintain a healthy teeth color, but they contain fluoride to help fight cavities as well. Therapeutic rinses work to help treat conditions such as gingivitis, tooth sensitivity, and inflammation. For more advanced conditions, prescription mouthwashes often contain chlorhexidine gluconate to kill bacteria that cause bleeding, inflammation, and plaque or biofilm formation.
  • 8. Should I Use Mouthwash Regularly?
Dental implants are the ideal way to replace missing or weakened teeth. Implants are permanent and serve as an excellent alternative to dentures for anyone with an otherwise healthy mouth and jaw. Most adult patients are good candidates for dental implants because they can help prevent the remaining teeth from moving or loosening.
  • 9. At What Age Should My Child First See a Dentist?
Studies show children can develop their first cavities by two years old, Pediatric Dentistry recommends booking the first visit once their first tooth appears – or, at the latest, their first birthday. This helps your dentist catch potential problems that can affect your child's overall health and well-being as more teeth grow in overtime.
  • 10. When Do Baby Teeth Typically Fall Out?
Most children begin losing their baby teeth between the ages of six and eight. They typically fall out in roughly the same order in which they grew. Keep in mind that all patients are different. Children and adult oral conditions depend on how long they've gone without an appointment, how long a child's baby teeth last, and what kinds of things you are naturally more sensitive to. Next time you're at the dentist, don't be afraid to ask any questions you might have; They are there to help!
